Men’s Health and The Importance of Exercise

21310574090_healthy-valentine.jpgEvery person needs to seriously take an interest in their personal health. It’s so obvious when you walk down the street that many people do not even consider taking some form of exercise to stay fit and healthy. Or they might consider it but they never actually get around to doing it. I think this is very sad really, because lack of exercise can quickly lead to such health issues as obesity, cancer and heart disease. There is absolutely no doubt that a well balanced diet and some form of daily exercise will play a big part in our personal health. This means that you really need to have a decent diet and a regular exercise regimen. Whether you are a man or a woman it’s irrelevant. Since i am a man, i obviously read men’s health magazines and articles for advice. If you’re an up to date male, who wants to learn how to live a much longer life, then you should really be doing the same.
Have you ever actually wondered when your hair will start thinning or when your metabolism will come to a sudden halt? These are the common questions with men. I think it’s quite normal for most of us to start wondering the answers to these questions when we get into our 30′s. All of a sudden it hits us that were not teenagers anymore. The college life is long since gone and it’s time for us to become mature and to think smart. More than likely you will have a loving family of your own now. So it’s really time for you to think about your personal health and your future well-being for the sake of your family. When I turned 35 at the beginning of this year, this is exactly what I did. Okay, it wasn’t actually the same day, because i was too busy celebrating my birthday, but it was the day after. I suddenly began searching for health related articles and men’s health magazine subscriptions on the internet. I thought this was the best place to start. An issue that had been lingering with me for a while was prostate cancer. And it still is to this day. I read that many thousands of men are diagnosed with this form of cancer, and i don’t want to be one of them obviously. So i decided to start researching prostate cancer and find out if there were any ways in which it could be prevented, and to my delight, i found out there are a number of ways in which you can. This is a men’s health issue that you really should start thinking about.
The magazine called “men’s health” is such a great source of information. I subscribed to this magazine and i get it delivered to my door step. It informs you about all sorts of different ways to exercise, get in shape and eat healthy. Also, about the most common diseases and afflictions in men, such as prostate cancer, hair loss, erectile disorder and more. If you’re a man and you really want to become a much healthier person, then you need to learn more about men’s health today.

Women’s Health – Straight to the Heart

01310574216_women-marathon.jpgIf you think men are more vulnerable to coronary disease than women, think again. Don’t wait for a warning sign – start looking after your heart today.

Statistics show one in three Australian women is at risk of heart attack, angina, stroke and peripheral vascular disease (PVD). Worse still, two thirds of women who die from a sudden heart attack have had no previous symptoms, according to The Jean Hailes Foundation for Women’s Health. Age, smoking, a lack of exercise, weight gain, diabetes and a poor diet all increase your risk of cardiovascular disease, as can family history.

The good news is that simple lifestyle changes can lower your chances of having a stroke or heart attack, says Professor Susan Davis, chair of Women’s Health at Monash University in Melbourne.

Regular exercise
Regular exercise is an extremely important factor in women’s health. Daily exercise can help control your weight and sugar levels, strengthen your heart, lower blood pressure, raise HDL (good) cholesterol and lower LDL (bad) cholesterol. “Women need to do moderate, endurance-type exercise for at least 40 minutes, three times a week, and include more activity in their everyday lives,” says Professor Davis.

Healthy heart diet
Eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables that are high in antioxidants and vitamins such as folate is also crucial for heart health. There is evidence that replacing unhealthy fats with polyunsaturated fatty acids found in oily fish, leafy plants, canola and linseed oil can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Give Up Smoking
Giving up smoking will also improve your heart health. Nearly 40 per cent of smoking related deaths are caused by cardiovascular disease, according to NSW Health. This is because smoking increases an artery-clogging process called atherosclerosis.

The Road to a Healthy Lifestyle

21310737625_meditation.jpgA healthy lifestyle is a broad term covering several areas of life. Many people want to live healthily, but do not know where to start.
A healthy lifestyle pattern occurs primarily in mind and only then can move into action. In order to be mentally mature. Mentally mature, so we can properly weigh what is more worthwhile – now live unhealthy, damaging your body having a lot of severe chronic diseases in old age, or taking care of themselves and prolong life.
A healthy lifestyle begins with the exchange of attitude!   Healthy mind – healthy body start.
The first step – sit down and think about how you are living now and how would improve your life if you start to live healthy?
Do nothing, just think – you can imagine.
Think not only about the here-and-now surrounding routine, but also about the future – close and far,here-and-now and in old age, children, grandchildren, great-grandson. As all you may need a healthy in older age!
From thought to action !

When to start living healthy? From tomorrow, the next month, from Christmas, New Year, Easter? Major changes to the moral preparation is required, but is a distant date is right?
Time is running constantly, and each moment spent not returns! Why not to start a healthy lifestyle now-from this minute?
How to change your lifestyle?
Lifestyle should be changed slowly.
Imagine that you eat more fat this evening with a beer or a steak with wine, but tomorrow you will eat vegetables for breakfast, for lunch – cereal – for dinner vegetables again. Or, in the last year you was lying and watched TV, but tomorrow you will run 10 km or otherwise you will punish yourself  for overweight. Such a drastic change is the high stress to the body.
On the other hand many of these drastic changes never successful…
